Hi, I'm Marlune
I'm a ceramicist and sculptor operating between Boston and Bombay. My practice is a continuous dialogue between the celestial and the tidal, capturing the ephemeral nature of the moon and the sea through clay in contemporary forms.
My path into ceramics began in 2020, born from a period of global stillness and a personal drive for tactile exploration. His education is a patchwork of global influences:
Formal Workshops: Technical foundations built through intensive studies in the United States and Japan.
Self-Study under Artist: A independent exploration of material science and sculptural forms.

2025 T. Mori, Bizen, Japan
2026 S. Takeuchi, Seto, Japan
At the heart of my work is the repetition of shape. I explore the meditative power of creating the same form over and over, allowing variations in size, style, and surface to dictate the final narrative.
Much like the moon shifting through its phases or the ocean’s surface reacting to the wind, my sculptures are transformative. A single form reveals a different character when viewed from a new angle or under a different light transitioning from a sharp silhouette to a soft, lunar curve.
Marlune treats the surface of his work as a canvas for elemental experimentation. His practice bridges ancient traditions with modern curiosity:
Glaze Alchemy: Constant experimentation with chemical compositions to mimic natural textures.
Raku: Embracing the thermal shock and smoke of the fire to create crackled, cosmic finishes.
Wood-firing: Utilizing the unpredictable ash deposits of the kiln to ground his pieces in an earthy, organic grit.
Through this intersection of discipline and chance, Marlune creates "living" objects that invite the viewer to slow down and observe the subtle shifts in the world around them.
